AMORIC are an award winning four-piece rock band who are based in Dublin. The quartet’s front-woman, Lora, has an undeniable vocal ability and stage presence and this coupled with the band’s hard-hitting playing style produces the diverse and memorable sound that is AMORIC. One review sums up the situation perfectly: "Sometimes in amongst the piles of CDs & MP3s from people with false hopes and over confidence that I wade through every day you get a real gem. AMORIC is one. So why aren't they signed? I have no idea, but it can only be a matter of time." Visit the AMORIC website by clicking on the picture and listen for yourself.
Limerick band Vesta Varro were named as 'Best Band' at the prestigious 2007 'Indie Week' festival in Toronto and they have signed a licensing deal with the Major American TV Network CBS with 4 of their songs featuring on the network so far. Their sound has been described as guitar fuelled, affecting rock that soars and dips in equal measure, pulling at the listeners heart strings with minor chords and descending guitar lines. They are: Damien Drea (vocals), Keith Forde (guitars), Peter Forde (guitars), Rod Smith (bass) & Shane Lee (drums). This ambitious, talented & driven band are destined for very big things. See them live and you'll understand...
Prison Love are a Dublin based band playing Bluegrass, Old-time, Gospel and Cajun. Expect the fast pace and dynamism of El Nino's mandolin, Will N. Dowd's flat-picking guitar - both also make use of a banjo, when the wind is right - Dancing Pete's squeeze-box, European Sue's fiddle & X-Kon's bass fiddle. The vocal harmonies of Soapy and Hurricane complete the line-up. This is a band that delivers great music and fun in equal doses.
"Their debut album, This Corn is Awesome, is one of the most uplifting recordings ever consigned to CD."
Preacher's Son is like a David Byrne, Scott Walker collaboration. Queens greatest hits circa 1980 vs Morrison Hotel. A bit angsty, a bit Bowie, a wee bit Ska. All influences can be heard loud & clear in every track and are proudly shown. Country, funk, folk, punk, croon, Mars (God of War). All of the above with AC/DC as the backing band and John Lee Hooker as MD. Aimed at the hip and heart if you have to think about it, don't. Brian Hogan on vocals & guitar, Emmaline Duffy-Fallon on the drums, Jose Carlos Anselmo Flores on bass and Frailan Moran Mendive on percussion. It's an AC/DC-ABBA crossover sort of Johnny Cash doing Talking Heads thing.
